Perm Mayor Eduard Sosnin Meets with WWII Veterans

On the eve of Victory Day, the Mayor of Perm Eduard Sosnin met with veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, residents of besieged Leningrad, and children of the war. Veterans of the special military operation, cadets, and young army members took part in the meeting.
The Mayor of Perm congratulated those present on the upcoming holiday of the Great Victory and expressed words of deep appreciation and gratitude to the veterans.
– Such meetings are a symbol of the continuity of the traditions of courage, honor, and love for our country. We must remember and be proud of the exploits of our ancestors, raising a new generation. Thank you to the veterans for their invaluable contribution to the history of our country. I thank modern heroes for their loyalty to duty and selflessness! – Eduard Sosnin noted in the Telegram channel.
Children of the war, residents of besieged Leningrad shared their memories. One of them is Nina Teterina. She said that she lived in the encircled city for a year and a half, then was evacuated to the Yaroslavl region. After the war, Nina Teterina returned to Leningrad, since all Leningrad children were sent back to the city. After the war, the city was in a difficult state: factories and plants were destroyed, and there were few hospitals. At that time, she was already 13 years old, and she was assigned to the plant.
Future defenders of the Fatherland - cadets and young army members - thanked the veterans and those who are now defending our Motherland.
- We remember at what price happiness and peace were won on our land. We will carry this memory through time and tirelessly remember and honor the victory and courage of the older generation. Let each of us on this day realize what it is like to live happily and joyfully thanks to victory for all time, - emphasized the students of school No. 136 named after police colonel Ya.A. Vagin.
At the end of the meeting, participants were presented with commemorative gifts in honor of Victory Day.
