The first in Russia Extreme Park opened in Perm. According to experts, Perm is a key city on the map of Russian skateboarding.

The first Russian Extreme Park opened in early October 2009 on Bolshevistskaya Street, Dzerzhinskiy District of Perm City. The park accommodates skateboarders, in-line skaters, traceurs and bikers of all ages, skill-levels and styles. Perm is now a venue suitable for national and international competitions and demonstrations.

The idea to construct the park was put forward by the Mayor Shubin in 2007.

The facility's opening ceremony was attended by representatives of local authorities and athletes representing the European Association of Skateboarding and the Russian Federation of Skateboarding. On this occasion Tony Hawk, the internationally recognized skateboarder, sent his words of encouragement and congratulations.

The Mayor Igor Shubin stated that the realization of this project was a matter of principle for him. The Extreme Park responds to a need for such a facility that was voiced by Perm's young people two years ago at the meeting with the Mayor. And the Mayor did keep the promise given to the youths.

According to Aleksandr Potseluyev, Head of the International Extreme Sports Games, this unmatched in the nation Extreme Park will give renewed impetus to development of extreme sports in Russia such as skateboarding and bicycle motocross.

A Throne sculpture was erected at the Extreme Park, it symbolizes the leading role of Perm in the history of extreme sports development in Russia.
The Perm Extreme Park is open seven days a week and there is no admission fee.
