Mr. Colin Cook, Councillor of the Oxford City Council, participated in the Victory Day festivities that took place in Perm on May 9th.

During his stay in Perm, Cllr. Cook had a meeting with the Mayor Igor Shubin and Perm councillors. Igor Sapko, the First Deputy Chairman of Perm City Council, emphasized the importance of the development of Perm-Oxford twinning link: Perm learnt a lot from Oxford and adapted some of Oxford's best practices to our conditions. Councillors also discussed future Perm-Oxford projects.

Cllr. Cook visited two Community Centres in Perm and was impressed by the range of activities provided by the centres to Perm citizens. In fact, the idea of establishing community centres had been borrowed from Oxford.

Cllr. Cook also held some meetings with students of Secondary School 50 and Perm State University.
