On June 17 Igor Shubin, Mayor of the City of Perm, met with visitors from Louisville, Kentucky, the Sister City of Perm in the US.

In attendance was a delegation of students from the University of Louisville, including Professor Tom Dumstorf, Professor of Russian at the same university. The students have been in Perm since May 21, living in families and experiencing Russian life, language and culture. They have visited local community centers, the ballet, the opera, Khokhlovka, the Circus, the Kungur Ice Cave and the Belogorskiy Monastery as well as other local points of interest.

Also in attendance were Michael Brohm and Charles Oates. Mr. Brohm is a photographer in Perm for the fourth time, collecting photographic portraits for projects he has called "Yesterday's Enemies" and "Portraits from Russia". Charles Oates, a physician and amateur photographer is traveling with Mr. Brohm. They are both being hosted by Perm residents during their stay.
