Perm film director wins at “Dragon Forum” at the Krakow Film Festival
Perm director Olga Averkieva’s film “Prodigal Son” takes “Best project” diploma at the “Dragon Forum” in Krakow, as stated by department of culture and youth policy.
Dragon Forum – is a pitching-forum, which takes place annually at the Krakow Film Festival. More than 20 directors presented their films at this year forum.
“We took a two-day film class, presented reports, worked with Dorota Roszkowskaб, director of Academy of Documentary Arts, British producer and director Sylvia Stevens and a Polish Film Institute professor. In the end of a class we presented our projects to investors and producers.
This prize gives young director an opportunity to get a scholarship and stay in Poland for 6 months in order to finish editing. As the main goal of the forum is to bring together producers and directors, every participant got a contact list of producers and film festivals he can attend.
“Prodigal Son” tells a story of a Russian family, going through a relationship crisis. Olga Averkieva, who has won one of the most prestigious film forums at the age of 22, made this film as her diploma project. Olga’s academic adviser is Perm documentary filmmaker Pavel Pechyonkin.
