Twin cities festival “We are together!”

As stated by the City Department of Culture and Youth Policy, an international festival of Perm’s sister cities “We are together!” will take place on September 17 - 23.  The festival has been a present to the city by twin towns and partner cities on its 290 anniversary.

Louisville, Oxford, Duisburg, Amneville and Grenoble, Qingdao, Agrigento, Guadalajara will present various forms of unique national cultures.

Festival events will take place in different parts of the city: Organ Concert Hall, Philharmonic Hall, Art Center, Gorky Park, walkway part of Permskaya Street and even at the Zoo.

Official representatives of Perm twin cities will plant trees at the Tatishev Square at 2p.m. on September 18.

Jazz and piano music concerts will take place during the “We are together!” festival, and a “View” photo fair will be opened at the City Exhibition Centre.

Artur Kloze - comic-artist and animator from Duisburg, Germany - will host a Plein Air on September 20 and 22, and a master class on animation.

Several socially oriented events will happen during the festival. Round tables on “Leisure activities for disabled people” will bring together Perm and Duisburg specialists.

Historical films such as “Perm – Louisville: Love story”, “Perm – Oxford: the Lifetime”, “Perm – Qingdao: Friends forever” will be shown at the Premier Cinema Theatre.

Festival events will take place all over the city and will be available to everyone. Rich and diverse program is built to meet everyone’s interest.

Perm has always been a place for international social and art events: festivals, round tables and conferences. International summit of city and regional planners ISOCARP took place last year in Perm. National conference of electric transport companies happened in Perm in April 2013. International ecological conference “Ecological problems of anthropogenic transformation of urban environment” will take place in October in Perm.
