Perm enterprises took part in MAKS-2015 International Aviation and Space Show
XIIth International Aviation and Space Show took place near Moscow on August 25-30. Governor Viktor Basargin led Perm delegation to the show.
The large enterprises and research centres of Perm and Perm Krai took part in the show, with Proton-PM, Aviadvigatel, Perm Engine Plant, Iskra Science and Production Centre and Perm National Research Polytechnical University being among the participants. Perm Aviation industry presented the Novy Zvezdny Techonopolis rocket engine construction cluster and the Regional Engineering Centre.
The Novy Zvezdny Techonopolis project is carried out due to the effective cooperation of Proton-PM, Perm Krai government, Perm City Administration as well as aircraft and spacecraft enterprises. The project is aimed at promoting the aircraft and spacecraft industry development as well as setting up the single science and technology infrastructure in Perm.
The project provides for the creation of a comfortable living environment, an increase in human resources and the development of the engineering, transport and energy infrastructure, road and house construction, renovation and construction of health care, culture and sport facilities in Novye Lyady.
A special part of the The Novy Zvezdny Techonopolis is school 129. It was assigned the “unique school” status in 2013 as a “Technoschool”, which means that in addition to teaching compulsory subjects, it implements a career guidance programme for pupils. The Technoschool innovative programme and its new approach to teaching are aimed at promoting young people’s interest in engineering and technical occupations. In the longer term, school 129 is to become a key part of a human investment programme that will provide highly qualified specialists for the enterprises participating in the Novy Zvezdny Techonopolis project.
Another project is being implemented by OAO PNPPK and is aimed at setting up a photonics cluster in Perm. The Perm City Administration works closely with Perm Engine Plant, ОАО Reductor-PM, Iskra-Aviagaz and other enterprises that are key partners in the city development.
Viktor Ageev, Deputy Head of the City Administration, was quoted as saying:
– Perm, to say the least of it, is one of the Russian centres of aircraft engineering. The city is home to a number of enterprises that design and build engines for Russian aircraft and spacecraft. It goes without saying that Perm can benefit from developing the aircraft industry as it has a high added knowledge-based value and provides welfare and social security for its workers. Perm development plans are coordinated with aircraft industry development. I believe that thanks to these joint projects we will be able to create a favourable environment for further development of the aircraft industry.
