Perm regional non-governmental organization “Alliance Français-Perm” has marked 15 years of its existence

Greetings from the Vice-Mayor of Perm Lidia Korolyova and other guests were received by the French Ambassador in Russia Sylvie Bermann, the AF-Perm Director  and Administrative Council  President.

“Alliance Français –Perm” was organized in Perm in  2004 following the initiative of  enthusiasts of the French language and  culture, supported by  the city administration and the French Embassy in Russia.  The opening  of the eleventh (at the time)  Alliance in Russia  was supported by Edmonda Charles-Roux, President of Goncourt Academy  Jury,  who visit Perm for the event.  

The 15 years anniversary official celebrations  were held on May 29, 2019 in  the Pushkin Library in Perm, with the French Ambassador Sylvie Bermann, the international team of “The Alliance Français –Perm” headed by its Director Marina Vershinina and the Administrative Council President Olga Ilyinykh receiving   greetings from the guests of the event. 

The event was addressed by the Vice-Mayor Lidiya Korolyova. 

“Perm City Administration continues supporting “Alliance Français –Perm” activities;  the name itself – Alliance - means the union  which makes the city residents   part of the world and European communities and promotes common human values,” said Lidia Korolyova. 

For 15 years of its existence,  “The Alliance Français –Perm” has achieved a marked success in popularizing the French language and literature and promoting business, cultural and educational links with France. 

One of the city’s main events – the Diaghilev Festival- is unthinkable without participation the stars of French culture  and gems of Russian-French heritage, which is made possible by the French partners through the assistance of “The Alliance Français –Perm”.

“The Alliance Français –Perm”  provides the French language courses and the possibility of taking DELF/DALF  international exam,  it engages the young people and children into a variety of competitions and festivals, thus  helping to increase the number of Perm residents taking interest in the French language and the culture of France. 

The evening concluded with a wonderful concert, organized as a gift from the French side,  by a famous French pianist Maxim Zecchini, who presented a programme of piano pieces by Mozart, Debussy, Chopin and  modern variations on the tunes of French songs and film music.
