Four projects from Perm have become winners at the VI International Best Municipal Practices Competition
Photo: Anna Patrusheva The winners got their awards on August 16, 2019 in Chelyabinsk, as the International Best Municipal Practices Forum uses new locations every year. Last year it was held in Bishkek, year before in Ufa and in Perm in 2015.
Perm City Administration is currently involved into 18 municipal practices grouped in to 6 thematic areas corresponding to the relevant national projects. These practices cover all the basic activities of the administration, namely social issues, economic development, creating comfortable and safe environment. The winners were identified through voting at the forum’s web-page . Each site visitor could vote for several practices, however, repeated voting for the same project was not possible.
The project “Unique schools” became the winner in “Human Capital. Science. Education” nomination. The project is aimed at preparing the schoolchildren to choose future profession. At preset Perm has 10 "unique" schools which are in close interaction with enterprises and partner organizations. Among such schools are the “Tochka” school of design, Engineering school No16, “Photonika” school No 93, IT school No 10 and others.
In this nomination the prizes were also won by two other projects named «Personal account of a pre-school child » and «Men in education: a rule but not an exception”. The personal account serves as a tool to take account of personal development results for pre-school children attending kindergartens. At present each child aged 4-8 has an electronic survey card which the parents can monitor through their child’s personal account.
“Men in education” project is aimed at raising the status of the teacher as a profession. The annual competition with the same title has already become a traditional event for the city taking place on the eve of the Fatherland Defenders Day , February 23rd.
The prize winner in the nomination «Human Capital. Demography. Healthcare” became the project of the city’s Committee on Physical Culture and Sports called “Perm International Marathon”; the running race will be held in Perm this year for the third time.
Sports and healthy lifestyle have become top popular among the city residents today. The aim of the administration is to support this trend. It is important that Perm does not only provide the locations for high-level professional sport events but has many other activities to offer for every resident. The marathon gives the opportunity for the people to enjoy the healthy lifestyle and challenge themselves, as well as turns the city into the center of marathon movement.
The number of marathon participants increases year to year. The first marathon started with 5,500 runners, the second featured 7,200, and this year the slots for the thirst marathon have been already raised by the organizers to 10,000.
Municipal practices from Perm traditionally become the competition winners. Last year Perm won in the nomination “Social Diplomacy as an effective municipal management”.
