Perm hosted the Perm-East Forum

The VI City Forum “Perm–East” was dedicated to The People’s Republic of China.

The Perm-East Forum has been held in Perm since 2012. Its purpose is to inform Perm residents about various aspects of life in one of the countries of the East.

The Mayor of Perm Dmitriy Samoylov pointed out that this year marked a significant date - the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China as well as the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the PRC and Russia. Perm city is proud to have a partner city in China - Qingdao. Over the years, many interesting events have been held together.

The honorary guests of the forum were Ms.Gong Jiajia, Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Russia, Mr. Sergey Sanakoev, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society, Mr. Oleg Demikhov, President of the Sino-Rus Association of International Trade and Economic Relations, Mr. Maksim Spassky, Chairman of the Russian-Chinese Friendship House.

“It is people who adorn any city, make it colorful and lively. It is a great joy and honour for me and my colleague to attend the opening ceremony of the forum. Wonderful, kind, hospitable people live here”, said Ms. Gong.

The forum programme included round tables on sports, education, tourism and business cooperation. Forum participants also attended a tea ceremony and workshops on Chinese calligraphy and traditional Chinese medicine.
