As part of the spring greening campaign, young saplings are appearing along the city's streets. The renewal and expansion of the city's green fund is an important task facing the city authorities. The planting of tree saplings has now started, followed by the planting of perennial flowers and shrubs by the end of May. Several thousands of shrubs and trees will be planted again this year in city parks and along roads as part of the spring and autumn green campaigns.

According to the Department for Roads and City Improvement, traditionally the season starts at the beginning of May. Plantings will take place in public gardens, parks, city boulevards, along streets and roads and in the city forests. The first saplings appeared on the boulevard part of Park Avenue. The saplings of Siberian crab apple tree were planted there. Planting will start in the centre of Perm in the next few days - 15 small-leaved lindens and 15 young Royalty apple trees will be planted.

More flowers and shrubs will be planted in Perm by the end of May. At the same time, new saplings will appear in the areas where large-scale reconstruction and capital repairs are underway, for example, in the park on the lower part of the Kama river embankment, on the city esplanade, along Komsomolsky Avenue, as well as in remote city districts. For example, in Industrialny сity district it is planned to plant over 64 thousand annual flowers of different varieties and shades this year. Flowerbeds, hanging baskets and vertical flower structures will be decorated with petunias, tagetes, salvias, cineraria and begonias. Colours such as red, yellow, white and blue will dominate.

In Sverdlovsky district, white and red petunias will be planted near The Memorial to Front and Rear dedicated to the workers of the Sverdlov Engine Plant who died during the Great Patriotic War. Flowers will be also planted on Veterans’ Square, near the Monument to the Urals Volunteer Tank Corps. Planting of flowers is planned in all city districts.
