On the New Year night  the Perm city central location, the Esplanade, was visited by over 20, 000 people,  even though this year the traditional night concert and  fireworks had been cancelled.

The main ice town location in Perm  has the slogan “Vivat, Perm!” as it is dedicated to the coming 300- year celebration  of the city and all its components tell their  stories of the city origin.  The ice objects skillfully created by a professional team of sculptures, are made to attract visitors of all ages.  Traditionally, the Ice Town has become one of the largest in Russia- it  is about  6,000 square meters and uses over 2,500 meters of RGB-lights; to create this ice park located in the very heart of the city,  the workers used over 100 cubic meters of pure ice.

The “Vivat, Perm” Ice Town started  a variety of events dedicated to the 300-year anniversary of the city.  It has become a location for many interactive events for children and parents, including the traditional Christmas concerts by musicians, singers and creative groups.

Above all, the closing festive days gave the start of the traditional winter festival – on January 8, 2023 the participants of the “Winter Vernissage” , Russia’s  Ice and Snow Sculptures Cup, started their competition. The competing teams include the winners of the previous competitions and is dedicated to the jubilee of Perm.   Each sculpture created during the festival will become a symbolic present to the city.

January 8 is the closing date for many other  winter  holidays  events, such as the Father Frost Residence for children  and the interactive installation in the amphitheatre on the Embankment .  The Ice Town also provided the outdoor games with animators  during the day and an opportunity to take  photos. During the New Year holidays, two central holiday locations  - the city Esplanade quarters and the city Embankment - were visited by about a million of visitors.
