The conference ''Islam in the Kama region. History, modernity and opportunities'' was held in Perm.

The year 2023 is a landmark date for all Perm citizens who profess Islam. The Perm Regional Division of  the Central Spiritual Administration of Russian Muslims was established 30 years ago. Perm officials congratulated the authorities of the religious organization.

Perm is a multinational city, a significant part of Perm residents are Muslims.

The Perm Regional Division of  the Central Spiritual Administration of Russian Muslims was established 30 years ago. The conference "Islam in the Kama region. History, modernity and opportunities" was held in Perm on February 20 and 21. The results of the organization’s work were summed up and further plans were outlined during the event.

The conference was attended by representatives of government authorities, heads and representatives of law enforcement agencies, members of the scientific community, representatives of religious organizations in Perm and Perm Krai and also public activists.

On behalf of Aleksey Demkin, the Mayor of Perm, Alexander Molokovskikh, the Head of the Mayor’s Office addressed the members of the organization and Anwar hazrat Ablaev, the Mufti. He emphasized that relationships between Regional Spiritual Administration of Perm Muslims and Perm authorities are very productive.

Alexander Molokovskikh said: "Perm is a multi-confessional and multinational city with the population of over 1 mln people. For 30 years the Regional Spiritual Administration of Perm Muslims was engaged in Islamic education, conducted educational work among Perm citizens, participated in regional and city events and holidays. I am sure that this work will continue for the benefit of our city, which is celebrating its 300th anniversary this year".

Mufti Anvar hazrat Ablaev said: "We are grateful to our city ethnic autonomies and diasporas for their cooperation and to the imams for their work which is very important for the city and the region. Today we have warm and friendly relations with all Perm confessions. All our joint projects are known far beyond the Perm Krai. Guests from different regions of the country come to us, to Perm".

He also thanked everyone who was involved in preparation for the 300th anniversary of Perm city. He also added that in recent years, thanks to the joint efforts of the regional and city authorities, business and the public, the city has significantly changed for the better.
