The Perm Art Festival opened with performances of nationally known citizens of Perm

Perm Art Festival began on March 12th at the Soldatov Palace of Culture. This event is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the city. The Mayor of Perm, Aleksey Demkin, said that concerts, musicals and performances will be available in different parts of the city.

The grand opening and the first big Gala concert of the Perm Art Festival took place on March 12. This Gala concert was dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Perm and the work of Perm composers, writers and musicians.

The Mayor of Perm Aleksey Demkin said that 30 concerts will be held during the next three months:

– From March 12 to June 12 participants of the creative association "PermConcert" and invited artists will introduce everyone to Perm composers, writers, poets, performers and artists. All these concerts, musicals and performances will be available in different parts of the city. So, the chamber orchestra "Orphei" will perform the music of Perm composers under the cosmic projections of the planetarium's star hall".

The Perm residents who have achieved national and world fame, performed at the opening of the festival.

The artistic director of the "Orphei" and the chief ideologist of the festival Pyotr Yurkov summed up the results of the Gala concert:

– As I conceived the opening of this festival a year ago, this is how it turned out. The artists who came to their hometown made a splash. I think today we have once again confirmed that Perm has something and someone to be proud of. We have wonderful musicians who live in other cities, but they position themselves as Permians. Good luck, our festival!
