In turn, the exhibition dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Perm will be located in Changzhou’s  Square of Culture,  a place for  important public events of the city.

Changzhou is an urban district in the southern part of Jiangsu Province of the People’s Republic of China. It is an industrial and cultural center of China with more than 3,000-year history, also known as “the Dragon City”.  Perm and Changzhou are planning  to cooperate in the fields of economy, trade, culture and education. To date, a number of events have been held to exchange experiences between cities. In addition, with the assistance of the Perm Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Perm administration and the Changzhou government, a business mission of Perm entrepreneurs to the Chinese city is to be organized this year.

Earlier, the Mayor of  Perm Aleksey Demkin noted that for Perm, as for the whole country, relations with Asian countries are of strategical importance.

- Changzhou is considered to be a  birthplace of China’s national industry. Its main branches of industry are metallurgy, energy, transport engineering, information technology and agriculture. Sheng Lei, the Mayor of the city,  has already declared their readiness to cooperate with Perm in the field of economy, trade, culture and education, - said Aleksey Demkin.

The  exhibition  features  12 stands with photos and the visitor can  learn more about the attractions of one of the largest cities of China. For example, about the Changxi opera, the city library, the Olympic sports center, «China Dinosaur Park», etc.  In its turn,  Changzhou will host a photo exhibition about Perm, dedicated to the city’s 300th anniversary, in June this year. The exhibition will be located  in the Square of  Culture, the central square of the city, where important public events take place. Residents of  Changzhou will be able to see the   Kama Embankment, the Ice Town  on the Esplanade, the  iconic buildings and views of Perm.

With a population of more than 5 million, Changzhou  ranks  second  in Jiangsu Province in agriculture  and  integrated system of higher and vocational education. Changzhou has a rich cultural and historical heritage. Every year the city is visited by about 60 million tourists. In addition, Changzhou actively cooperates with other cities and has 28 sister cities, including Russian Stavropol.

To add, since 2006 Perm  has been twinned with  Chinese  Qingdao, located in Shandong Province, cooperating mainly in  education, culture and ecology.
