«The geography of river cruises is expanding»: Russia’s most modern river ship arrived to Perm for the first time
Photo by Vitaly Koksharov As announced by Mayor of Perm Aleksey Demkin, the river ship «Mustai Karim» is making the «Happiness on the Kama» cruise from Nizhny Novgorod.
The «Mustai Karim» meets a five-star hotel standards as it was built as the type of a «floating hotel». The ship makes its cruise titles «Happiness on Kama» from Nizhny Novgorod. Besides Perm it makes stops at Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, Tchaikovsky, Yelabuga, Sviyazhsk.
- Geography of river cruises is expanding. Today Perm for the first time welcomes the «Mustai Karim» river ship. This is the most modern ship of a five-star hotel level in Russia. Perm is a city on a large river, thus we rely on development of river cruises. I believe that cultural, gastronomic and event potential can make Perm one of the dynamically developing cities in the field of domestic tourism,- noted Aleksey Demkin.
The ship stayed in Perm for 11 hours and guests of the city had an opportunity of going on a sightseeing tour, visit the museums and then take a walk around the city. In July «Mustai Karim» will make a direct voyage from Perm, making a thematic theatre cruise with actors of St. Petersburg Lensovet Academic Theatre, the Young Spectators Theatre and Theater of Comedy.
It is planned that Perm will take 100 ship entries this year, with passenger traffic to reach the record figures of 50,000 cruise tourists. The routes geography in the new season is diverse: tourists can visit the ancient cities on the Oka River - Pavlovo, Murom, Agidel, Mamadysh-on–the Vyatka.
Tour operators note an increased demand for river tourism: more than half of the cruises this year have already been sold, the percentage of trips sold reached 60-65%, compared with 40-45% last year. The navigation of 2023 has already been prolonged till the end of October while previously it used to close at the beginning of the month. The last cruise will be held within October 27-30.
