Perm authorities intend to expand humanitarian cooperation with China

As part of Perm’s business mission to China, Deputy Head of Administration Aleksey Gribanov noted that a number of Perm schools are interested in learning the Chinese language and establishing partnerships with Chinese educational institutions.

 Perm business mission to the Chinese city of Changzhou was held last week,   facilitated by  the Perm Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Perm Administration and the Changzhou Government. The delegation included Deputy Head of Perm City Administration Aleksey Gribanov, President of the Perm Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vyacheslav Belov, Deputy Chairman of the Perm City Duma Maksim Spiridonov, as well as businessmen, representatives and managers of 25 companies from the Perm Region. The  Perm companies  represented a  variety of  industries - mechanical engineering, chemical industry, agro-industrial complex and others. The delegation participants shared the results of the negotiations held in Changzhou and Shanghai, stating that  the business contacts exchange aroused a great interest among Chinese businesses.

Representatives of 78 companies from Changzhou and Shanghai have signed up for the Perm Business Contacts Exchange. The partners of the Perm Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China  carried out preliminary work, finding the negotiations  partners in China  for the  delegation companies.

In addition to the main events   the business mission participants  enjoyed a vast a highly topical  programme -  the delegation  visited the World Expo of New Energy, where the vice mayor of Changchou Hung Heng conducted the  overview of the  exhibition. Perm delegation visited «BAIC TRUCKS» factory and   the photo exhibition about Perm. In Shanghai, in addition to the business contacts exchange, a visit to the business incubator «PuE» and the high-tech park of Zhangjiang was organized. 

 A meeting was held with the Russian Consul General in Shanghai, Dmitry Lukyantsev. He noted the high-level organization of the business mission from Perm and the quality of information materials provided to Chinese entrepreneurs. A special catalogue was published with full  information about Perm companies with the translation into Chinese.

In addition, a number of meetings were held between the leaders of Perm and Changzhou. Further directions of cooperation between the two cities were discussed. The parties agreed to expand cooperation, especially in the humanitarian sphere. Thus, Deputy Head of Administration Perm Aleksey Gribanov noted that today it is necessary to establish closer contacts, especially in the field of education.

– In Perm, a number of schools would like to introduce the Chinese language  into their programmes and teach schoolchildren,  as well as establish a partnership. And  a certain basis for this has already been established. We want to expand and deepen this cooperation, especially in the humanitarian sphere, - said Aleksey Gribanov.

According to him, about 300 students from China are currently studying in Perm. The authorities of both cities are interested to see  schoolchildren and young people  of Russia and China actively cooperate in various exchange programs.
