An art exhibition opened in the Kabalevsky Perm School of Arts displaying the works specially sent to Perm from China

Part of the   «Perm - Qingdao.  Community in Colors» project, the exhibition arranged  in the recreation hall on the first floor of the School of Arts presents 25 works by young artists from two creative schools of Qingdao, the twinned city of Perm.

At the start of 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the document declaring  2024-2025 as the Russian - Chinese Culture Years.

Perm and Qingdao, its Chinese twinned city,  have had a long history of  active cultural cooperation. The beginning of 2024 was marked by the opening of an art exhibition (0+) at the Kabalevsky Children’s School of Arts in Perm.  This is part of the joint artistic project of the school entitled «Perm-Qingdao.  Community in Colors», which  started in  June 2023 in collaboration with Chinese colleagues, featuring  a joint online exhibition on the partners websites organized to mark  the Child Protection Day and displaying  84 photos of the creative work of children  from Qingdao and Perm. The young artists exchanged  the vision of their hometowns, impressions of books they had read, images of favorite places and significant events. This exhibition was a gift from the People’s Republic of China to Perm to mark  the 300-year anniversary of the city.

Prior to the exhibition the  Kabalevsky Art School and  the Central Children’s Art School of the Perm State Institute of Culture sent 43 artistic works to Qingdao. They were presented at a real exhibition in two partner schools. In turn, young artists from China sent to Perm 25 of their works made in different genres: portrait, landscape, still life. Exhibition at the Kabalevsky Children’s School of Arts (Parkovy Prospekt, 16)  is open until February 17 and will further be displayed at  the Children’s Art School at  Perm State Institute of Culture and other venues of the city.
