The head of Perm, Eduard Sosnin, signed a cooperation agreement with Chelyabinsk

A delegation from Chelyabinsk is in Perm on an official visit. At a meeting at the city administration, Eduard Sosnin shared with his colleagues his experience of sustainable development of the city. Next, guests will be able to visit landmark sites for the city and communicate with specialists from relevant departments.

Perm is actively building intermunicipal cooperation. Modern Chelyabinsk is a large industrial metropolis, a business, scientific and cultural center of the Southern Urals. The city occupies a stable economic position and has great potential for further development. Therefore, the Perm authorities see this city as a potential partner.

On July 12, Deputy Head of the City of Chelyabinsk for Social Development Sergei Avdeev, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports Maxim Kleschevnikov, Head of the Economics Department Olga Kosikova, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture Yulia Sorokina, Director of the Education Development Center of the City of Chelyabinsk Svetlana Machinskaya arrived in Perm. The working meeting of the Perm and Chelyabinsk authorities was also joined by the vice-president of the Union of the Perm Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Elena Mironova, and the chairman of the branch of Delovaya Rossiya LLC in the Perm region, Dmitry Teplov. The head of the city of Chelyabinsk, Natalya Kotova, was present online.

– I am glad to welcome you to Perm. It is very pleasant that you visited our city on a return visit. In the spring we had a very fruitful conversation in Chelyabinsk, and today it is Perm’s turn to share our successful practices. Our good relationship will be formalized by signing the Agreement on Cooperation between Cities. Today we have a busy program ahead of us; we intend to introduce you to the work of all the main sectors of life in the city of Perm. I am sure that you and I will work productively today, and you will take home interesting ideas and solutions that will be useful to Chelyabinsk residents. Cooperation between municipalities helps to find new points of growth in the economy of our cities, improve living and working conditions for residents,” the head of Perm addressed the meeting participants.

In addition, Eduard Sosnin told his colleagues about the sustainable development of Perm. Thus, he shared his experience in the development of public transport, which is recognized as one of the best in Russia, educational methods, implemented projects for the improvement of the city center, the Kama embankment, experience in the development of green areas and interesting developments in the field of ecology. He also paid attention to strengthening business contacts and spoke about creating a favorable climate for entrepreneurs in modern economic conditions.

– We will try to adopt the best experience of Perm that we can see today. Very interesting aspects are related to the development of society. It is no secret to us that Perm is a leader in the development of territorial public self-governments. In education the situation is similar. Thank you for noting that Chelyabinsk is first in terms of standard road conditions. It's nice to come to other cities and hear about it. It will also be quite interesting to see “smart” sports grounds. We understand that this experience is easy to adopt and implement at home, but we have not approached this yet. We will also share our experiences. Thank you for the warm welcome,” said Sergei Avdeev, Deputy Head of the City of Chelyabinsk for Social Development.

Colleagues from Chelyabinsk were also interested in attracting investment in the construction of sports facilities and attracting enterprise employees to systematically play sports and participate in city events.

Next, an extensive program is planned for guests from Chelyabinsk - they will be able to visit a number of infrastructure facilities of the regional capital. Members of the delegation will inspect the complex of repair works on Komsomolsky Prospekt and Sibirskaya Street, visit the landscaped esplanade, the embankment of the Kama River and the stele “Perm - the city of labor valor”. The delegation members will also get acquainted with the multifunctional sports complex “Energia”, the Youth House, an extreme park, and examine “smart” stops. In addition, a number of meetings are planned with specialists from functional bodies of the Perm administration in the fields of education, social policy, culture, sports and economics.
