The Russian Mosaic festival was held for the first time in Perm

On May 31, the first folk art festival "Russian Mosaic" was held in Perm. The Theater Square hosted many venues that revealed the multifaceted Russian folk culture, which became one large interactive space where spectators of different ages could find something interesting to do.
The most popular Perm groups in the Russian folk genre performed on the main festival stage: "Kvartet Karavai", ensemble "Voskresenie", choreographic ensemble "Solnechnaya Raduga", ensemble "Yarmarka", balalaika player Andrey Kiryakov, ensemble "Ivany", folk group "Grusha", folklore ensemble "Voskresenie". Folk music in a modern interpretation was presented at the "Russian. Stylish" venue by the folk project "Varya" and the neofolk project "Balakir".
The "Russian" venue was popular with spectators. Khorovodnoe", where members of the family folklore ensemble "Gornitsa" played round dance, kissing and ritual games with the guests. The photo zone with the opportunity to try on Russian folk clothes became the most popular at the festival.
At the "Russian. Folk" site, an interactive program was held with famous accordionists Vladimir Oparin and Anatoly Poluyanov, the Russian song ensemble "Zabava" and the orchestra of the ensemble "Yarmarka". Fairy tales about Russian holidays were shown for the youngest spectators from the fairy tale workshop "Polenitsa". At the "Russian. Verbal" site, books about Russian music, folk costumes, language, painting, architecture were presented from the A.S. Pushkin Library.
The festival ended with a dance flash mob "Russian Movement" and a large round dance of all spectators with artists from the Yulia Trester Dance School and the Okey Contemporary Dance Theater.
In total, more than 3,750 spectators attended the festival.
