Perm took part in the meeting of the Volga Region Cities Association members
Photo by Volga Region Cities AssociationThe general meeting of the Volga Region Cities Association members was attended by mayors and deputy heads of cities, including Perm, Ufa, Saransk, Orenburg, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod and others.
The meeting addressed a wide range of issues that are priorities for sustainable development of municipalities. An important issue among them is effecting municipal powers in the field of environment and development of municipal-private partnerships. There were also reports on the participation of local self-government bodies in the implementation of the national project «Ecology», including sanitation of the Volga, establishing forestry and authorized bodies in the local administrations.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the Mayor’s Office Alexander Molokovskikh and the head of the city department of education Olga Ershova.
Alexander Molokovskikh presented on the work of city authorities in developing water-green urban framework in Perm.
– Perm is the greenest million-populated city in Russia, which makes it unique in terms of ecological balance and urban landscapes. Perm actively develops and supports a continuous network of green areas, parks and gardens. Various environmental projects and initiatives are being implemented in the city aimed at preserving and increasing green space, such as reforestation, creation of new parks and squares, as well as the improvement of existing green zones, noted Alexander Molokovskikh.
Olga Ershova presented the experience of concluding concession agreements for establishment and operation of schools. She noted that thanks to the concession agreements, modern school infrastructure was created in the city that can take in over three thousand school students. Schools comply with the terms of the federal project «Education Ministry School». At each facility, a unique environment has been created for vocational guidance that can be used not only by particular school students, but by the children of the whole neighborhood.
