The visit of the administrative team from Omsk to Perm coincides with the holding of the Board Meeting of the Union of Russian Cities in our city. Prior to the main event, both parties met personally to discuss the socio-economic development of cities, successful management practices applied in municipal territories. Among the topics discussed were urban improvement, demolition of dilapidated housing, and installation of architectural lighting for buildings.
“Despite the great distance separating us, the goals and tasks of municipal authorities remain the same – providing comfort for our residents, well-developed urban infrastructure, and functioning services. In this regard, we are partners who help each other solve critical challenges,” noted Eduard Sosnin, the Mayor of Perm.
Furthermore, the mayors signed a cooperation agreement between the two cities. Last year, both cities shared the title of Youth Capital of Russia. This joint collaboration will continue in the future.
“Our two cities have many similarities. Perm has a lot of experience that we can adopt,” noted Sergei Shelest, the Mayor of Omsk.
Guests from Omsk also visited the Perm City Rescue Service. They learned about the organization of duty shifts for rapid response teams and the equipment available to the service. They were shown unique training facilities, including a multi-level climbing wall, smoke and heat simulation training facility, and diving pool.
