The winners of the XXVIII City Contest of Socially Significant Projects “We are the City” have been determined in Perm
A total of 105 projects in five different categories were submitted to the competition committee for consideration. The members of the committee recognized 78 projects as winners.
Today, April 23, the competition committee finished the evaluation and selection of the best public initiatives for the XXVIII City Contest of Socially Significant Projects “We are the City”.
In 2026, the competition confirmed its status as one of the most sought-after tools for realising the potential of the best public initiatives, which will receive grant support. The total grant fund of the competition was 30 million rubles.
This year, 105 projects from non-profit organisations, public associations, and municipal institutions were submitted for consideration. All initiatives underwent rigorous expert reviews for compliance with the criteria of relevance, social efficiency, and thoroughness of the resource base.
Following the competition results, the committee identified 78 winners in five thematic categories.
“The winners included a wide variety of event-based projects ‒ from family clubs to volunteer movements and youth initiatives. I invite non-profit organisations, neighbourhood and public associations to apply for the competition next year. Let us work together to create projects that benefit every Perm resident and develop voluntary work in the city,” said the Mayor of Perm Eduard Sosnin.
The leader in both the number of applications submitted and the number of grants approved was the “My Project for My City” nomination. In this category, the experts supported 28 initiatives. They are aimed at developing neighbourhood associations and strengthening good neighbour relations. The winners include projects to create neighbourhood centres in residential estates and to organize community celebrations. For example, high marks were awarded to the project “Family Festival ‘Round Dance of Peoples’ Friendship’” («Семейный фестиваль «Хоровод дружбы народов») by the “Kachalovsky” Neighbourhood Association of the Industrialny City District, as well as the “Golden Dragon ‘YourUshuTheatre’” («Золотой дракон «ТвойУшуТеатр») cultural and educational project by the “Shans” Children’s Creativity Centre.
The category with the second most suported projects was “Perm ‒ the Territory of Culture”. The experts awarded victory to 21 initiatives that reveal Perm’s local identity. Thus, the “ArtPark” project by the municipal autonomous cultural institution “PermPark” received grant support. It is a series of weekly summer small-group master classes in applied and decorative arts. The winners also included the 9th Regional Children’s and Youth Vocal and Choreographic Competition “Star Rain ‒ 2026” of the municipal institution “’Yubileiny’ Club” as well as the project “Uniting Generations and Peoples. The Exhibition of Book Graphics by Yury Vasnetsov ‘A Sense of Fairy Tale’”.
In the “Sports Perm” category, the committee approved 15 projects for yard sports and open training sessions. One of the best is the “Sport Without Barriers, Hearts Without Borders” project. It is supposed to engage people with disabilities in systematic adapted physical education and sports. Also among the winners was the program “In sports, Everyone is Equal”. It is aimed at raising the population’s physical fitness level and fostering a healthy lifestyle among people with disabilities.
In the “Perm ‒ the Centre of Volunteering” category, there were nine supported applications. The winning projects include the program “We Are Together for the Front” by the “We are Together” charity fund. As part of this program, students from Perm’s educational institutions learn techniques of weaving camouflage nets and tactical bracelets for service members of the special military operation. The “Horses Heal Souls” project ‒ a set of activities to engage school students and youth in volunteer activities ‒ also won.
In the “EcoPerm” category, the committee approved five key projects aimed at preserving the city’s natural wealth. Leaders included projects for developing ecological volunteering and environmental literacy among school students. For example, the project “EcoProsvet” («Экопросвет»): Exploring and Preserving Nature Together” by the “Yegoshikha” Neighbourhood Association and “The School of Eco-Volunteers” by the Ecoinspection foundation.
