The Yegoshikha Visit Centre invites Perm residents to family-friendly events

On April 28, May 1, and May 3, the staff of the Yegoshikha Visitor Centre will organise tours titled “The Green Ring: A Future You Can Touch”. The tours begin at 11:00 AM. Participants will learn how the idea of transforming minor river valleys into modern ecological parks emerged, why trails are placed on stilts, and how this helps protect tree root systems.
On Wednesday, April 29, an investigative walk along the eco-trail “Biography of the Egoshikha: Chronicles of Wildlife Survival” will take place. Residents will explore what the valley looked like 300 years ago and learn how humans forced the river to serve the city. The walk will begin at 11:00.
At 16:00 on the same day, the visit centre will host a master class “The First Messengers of Spring: A Workshop of Paper Primroses”. Organisers invite families with preschoolers to an interactive session dedicated to fragile spring flowers of the “Green Ring”. Guests will learn how to admire primroses without harming nature. After that, together with instructors, they will create everlasting paper buds using the origami technique.
On April 30 at 11:00, the visit centre will host an interactive lecture “Masters of Time: The Forgotten Empire of the Yegoshikha”. A biologist will speak about the intricacies of evolution, from the first fish that came onto land to modern mammals, and why traces of this grand history are still hidden in the river valley.
On May 1 at 15:00, the session “Zoological Drawing: The Art of Seeing Detail. The Brimstone Butterfly” will begin. Participants will examine the structure of a spring butterfly and study the shape of its wings. Under the guidance of experts, guests will create a zoological illustration.
An hour later, at 16:00, the visit centre will host an excursion along the eco-trail “Factory Evening Gatherings”. Guests will immerse themselves in the recreational atmosphere of workers from bygone eras, hear warm-hearted songs and folk melodies, and learn vivid facts about the life of young people from the Yegoshikha Copper Smelter.
On Saturday, May 2, the excursion “Where Perm Began” will take place. Participants will discover why Vasily Tatishchev was interested in the small Yegoshikha and why it was more crucial for the city’s founding than the majestic Kama River. Guests will learn an intriguing detective story about the first city tram depot and understand how historical details shape the face of modern Perm. You can join the excursion at 11:00.
At 12:00 on the same day, a creative master class “The Yegoshikha: Inspired by Nature” will take place. Under the guidance of an artist, participants will try their hand at painting and applied and decorative arts. At 16:00, the interactive lecture “Spider Dances and Centipede Runs: Modes of Invertebrate Locomotion will be held. Listeners will learn how insects have mastered all habitats.
The program will end on May 3 at 16:00 with a master class on botanical drawing, “The Spring Awakening of Trees. The Bud”. Guests will study the shape and structure of a tree bud and create a precise scientific illustration.
