The Mayor of Perm met with the crew of the nuclear-powered underwater cruiser “Perm”

The meeting focused on patriotic education in schools and further interaction within the framework of cooperation.

The Mayor of Perm Eduard Sosnin held a working meeting with a delegation of sailors from the Russian Pacific Navy.

One of the main topics of the meeting was the discussion of patriotic education at educational institutions. Currently, every school in Perm features its own museum association whose members actively participate in the “Keepers of History” project run by the Movement of the First. School students not only broaden their horizons and gain experience in exploration and research activities but also develop civic and patriotic qualities, a sense of pride and respect for their home region. An equally important component of patriotic education is cadet training, which numbers 1,300 people now. This work is implemented in 11 schools across the city with the flagship being the Perm Cadet School No. 1 “The Generalissimo A.V. Suvorov Perm Cadet Corps”.

“We note that the number of cadet classes in the city and the number of students in them are growing. This is an opportunity to tell children about what it means to serve their country, including service in the submarine fleet. Such meetings are very important for our further cooperation”, said the Mayor of Perm Eduard Sosnin.

While in Perm, the delegation of sailors from the Russian Pacific Navy conducted lessons on patriotism and service on a submarine at The twice Hero of the Soviet Union G.F. Sivkov school №55 and at The Generalissimus A.V. Suvorov Perm Cadet Corps. On May 8 and 9, the crew also took part in the ceremonial events including the laying of wreaths and flowers at the “Heroes of the Front and Rear” Monument dedicated to the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory.

It is worth noting that one of the most modern submarines of the Russian Pacific Navy is named after the region capital. The nuclear-powered submarine cruiser “Perm” is the first standard carrier of the hypersonic cruise missile “Zircon”.
