According to the Perm City Department of Education, the “Aqua-Pro” team from Perm Planeta Zdorovo Kindergarten represented Perm Krai with distinction at the 12th All-Russian Underwater Robotics Competition and took the second place.
The young engineers and their mentors demonstrated not only a high level of technical proficiency but also an ability to solve complex engineering challenges related to pressing issues of the world’s oceans.
The pupils of Planeta Zdorovo Kindergarten, under the guidance of experienced educators, completed a complicated competitive task that included elements of designing, programming and piloting underwater vehicles. The children conducted a study of underwater ecosystems, modelled the monitoring of coral reefs, mastered automation and remote-control technologies, and demonstrated an integrated approach to energy efficiency and robotic maintenance of underwater infrastructure.
It is worth noting that this large-scale technology competition took place in Vladivostok at the Admiral G.I. Nevelskiy Maritime State University.
Each year, the mission tasks change and focus on current problems of the world’s oceans. This season, participants also tackled iceberg monitoring and underwater observatory assignments, demonstrating their skills in a swimming pool.
